Tree size:
• Most of the fruit trees are 1 year old bare-root whips (single trunk) unless otherwise noted. The size indicated is the height of the above ground portion of the whip. Some of the taller whips will likely need pruning at planting time.

Tree hardiness:
• All fruit trees sold on this website are rated to Zone 4 or lower unless otherwise noted.
• Generally speaking, apples and some hybrid varieties of plums are the most cold hardy.
• Customers in Prince/northwestern Queens counties, New Brunswick or in coastal/unprotected areas should do further research for cold hardiness by variety.
• Early few years the Maritimes experiences unseasonable blasts of extremely cold arctic air that may damage the fruiting wood of some species such as peaches, sweet cherries and Asian pears. This last occurred 2023-02-04 and 2017-02-12.

When you'll get fruit:
It depends on several factors:
• Apples, Japanese/Hybrid plums and Apricots usually start blooming in their 3rd to 4th year.
• European pears and plums may take 5 years or more to develop fruiting wood.
• Asian pears usually develop fruiting wood earlier than European pears.
• Growing conditions, climate, pest management, pruning styles and soil nutrients will drastically
impact your tree's performance.

Warranty:
• If planting and care instructions are followed all trees are guaranteed to leaf out by July 15.
• All trees are guaranteed to be delivered to the customer in a disease free condition.
• Please contact us with any problems by July 15. Replacement or future purchase credit only.

What is a rootstock:
• It is the roots of the tree underground up to the graft union a few inches above ground.
• Rootstocks are developed for tree hardiness, vigor, precociousness (faster reproductive maturity), consistency, disease and pest resistance, as well as dwarfism.
