**Self-fertile**

Montmorency is America’s #1 tart cherry, originating in the Montmorency Valley of France in the 17th century. It dominates commercial production for its reliability.

Winter hardy to Zones 4-8 (sometimes 9 with chill), self-fertile, vigorous, and productive. Shows good resistance to brown rot and leaf spot, though susceptible to bacterial canker in some conditions.

Grow in full sun with well-drained soil; harvest mid-summer. Bright red, medium-sized fruit with clear, juicy, tart flesh — the classic pie cherry for baking, canning, and juice.

Excellent processing quality; fruit freezes beautifully for year-round use.
