Brookgold is a hardy Japanese-style plum developed in Alberta, Canada, as part of the Brook series for extremely cold-tolerant hybrids. It offers reliable production in challenging northern climates.

Exceptionally hardy to USDA Zone 2-3 (down to -40°F), with vigorous upright growth. Good overall disease resistance, particularly against black knot common in many plums.

Grow in full sun with well-drained soil; pollinate with another Japanese plum like Toka. Early-season freestone plum with attractive golden-yellow skin and bright yellow flesh. Fruit is medium-small, sweet, juicy, and excellent for fresh eating or preserves.

Good storage life for a fresh plum — holds quality for several weeks in refrigeration.
