Freedom is a modern disease-resistant apple developed by the New York Agricultural Experiment Station in 1983 from a Macoun x PRI cross, for easy organic growing.

Hardy to USDA Zone 4, vigorous and spreading. Highly resistant to scab, mildew, cedar apple rust, and fire blight.

Grow in full sun with well-drained soil; pollinate with another apple. Large, bright red fruit with juicy, crisp flesh and balanced sweet-tart flavor, great for fresh eating or cider.

Good storage — lasts 2-3 months in cool conditions.
