Black Ice is a hybrid plum from Wisconsin, released in 2005 from a Japanese x American cross, for cold climates.Hardy to USDA Zone 3-8, compact and productive. Good resistance to black knot and brown rot.
Grow in full sun with well-drained soil; pollinate with Toka or similar. Large dark purple fruit with red juicy flesh and sweet plum flavor.
Moderate storage — lasts 1-2 weeks refrigerated.
